The Jack Russell Terrier is a popular, small, working dog that are bred successfully in South Africa. Breeders have protected the gene pool, and the breed have a reputation of being healthy, energetic and with a long lifespan.
Jack Russells are small terrier, high energy, healthy breed, working dog, fox hunting.
Jack Russell Terrier:
- Sturdy, tough, small terrier, and primarily a working dog.
- Were used in fox hunting.
- High energy breed that needs exercise and stimulation, and does not have serious health complaints.
- Not recommended for small apartments or small yards, with it’s high level of energy it needs space.
- An Irish-type called Jack Russell Shortys have shorter legs than the English-type.
- The Jack Russell of today originates from the dogs bred by Reverend John Russell in the early 19th century.
