Pinetown German Shepherd Dog Club is a registered member of the German Shepherd Dog Federation of Southern Africa, and it is the largest Club in KwaZulu-Natal. The Federation was formed in 1982, formed an agreement with the Kennel Union of South Africa (KUSA), to be solely responsible for the German Shepherd Dog Breed in South Africa.

The Shepherd Sheepdog Club offers club membership, breed information, health issues, breed colours. The Shetland Sheepdog is a sturdy, small, alert, rough-coated, longhaired working dog.

- Breed Colours – Shetland Sheepdog comes in several colours with varying amounts of white and/or tan, such as Sable, Tri Colour (black, white and tan), Bi-Black (black & white, no tan), Blue Merle (dilutes the black to gray and black mottling), Bi-Blue (bi-black carrying a merling gene), Sable Merle (sable carrying a merling gene), Colour Headed White (a pattern), Double Merle White (prone to vision and hearing problems of varying degrees).
